Simply beautiful gardens designed, created & maintained since 1984

Landscaping in Hassocks, West Sussex

A large but uninspiring garden with stunning views that the client wanted transformed.

They asked for a play area for the children as well as the adults!  After numbers site visits and meetings we agreed a design that was within their budget.

We set to work with the ground works and installing drainage in the lawn area.

Mud! You can always rely on January to offer an 'interesting' working environment...

The Lower Deck

They wanted a lower deck separate from the house so that they could make the most of their view and the afternoon sun. They also wanted it for entertaining so we installed lighting within the deck and planters.

The Top Deck & Path

The clients also wanted a deck at the back of the house. We used different materials to create texture and interest, bringing it together by using wood edging.

We installed a water feature at the corner of the top deck. A year on and the planting has softened the hard edges of the deck.

The Arbour

We built a feature tunnel arbour to join the house and patio to the garden and accentuate the view. Again we installed lighting in the arbour path so that it looked great even at night.

Fencing & Rose Arch

We erected a fence to keep the children's play area and vegetable patch separate from the rest of the garden.

A year on the completed fence and arch offer attractive separation between the key areas of the garden.

The Results

After a year the key points of the original design and construction can be seen in context with maturing planting (and better weather!).

This project took a total of five weeks from first 'breaking ground' to the end result. The clients were thrilled and the garden has become an immensely useable space that works extremely well for them as a family.
