Garden Transformation near Tunbridge Wells
The brief was to create a level garden from this large, sloping plot, with a second seating area for catching the sun in the late afternoon. We came up with some ideas that our clients really liked, and after a further meeting we had fine-tuned the design and agreed a schedule with them. We were all set to make a start on their garden’s transformation.
The old borders.
It’s difficult to show how much the garden sloped, but if you look at the fence line at the back of this photo it gives you a fair idea.
The garden cleared and the lawn taken up ready for the hard and soft landscaping to begin.
The raised beds along the back of the garden act as retaining walls to hold back the 45 tons of soil it took to level the garden.
The turf is laid, and the beds planted up. The deck is surrounded by wrap around raised beds, which help to blend it in with the rest of the garden and makes it a really attractive feature.
We went with a simple, but really effective planting scheme of purples and whites that include some of our clients’ favourite plants, and will also be easy for them to look after.
The beds ran around all three sides of the garden including along their patio.
