Landscaping in Framfield

This was a fairly small, sloped garden and the young professional couple wanted to make it level so that there was plenty of space for entertaining and relaxing. They decided on decking as opposed to paving as it fell within their budget and fulfilled their brief.

The Story

The first job was to clear the area and take up the turf. We then erected a new fence on 2 sides of the garden.

We then set about making raised sleeper beds to act as a framework for the deck and made it level. The entire area is supported by a system of joists attached to posts cemented in to the ground. This made sure that it would be very strong and stand the test of time.

We also built 2 steps to lead down from the house. These and the deck had lights installed in them to bring the entire garden to life at night

This was a large area of timber, and it could have looked overwhelming, but the planting scheme immediately softened it. The trees will also provide shade in a couple of years and once the garden furniture is out, this will be a great party zone!
